Gulf Shores Public Beach Hosts Shrimp Festival

Fresh seafood, live music, local art, and a weekend at the beach...what more could you ask for? The Annual National Shrimp Festival returns to Gulf Shores October 8–11, 2026, bringing four days of food and entertainment to Gulf Shores Main Public Beach. Admission is free, making it an easy addition to your fall beach getaway. While you’re in town enjoying the festival, save some room on your itinerary for another Gulf Coast tradition: a visit to Flora-Bama. From live music and famous Bushwackers to waterfront dining, there are plenty of reasons to head our way.

A Weekend Worth Savoring

Shrimp may get top billing, but the festival offers plenty to explore between bites. Browse fine art and arts and crafts booths, enjoy live performances, and sample everything from seafood platters and crab cakes to fish tacos and sweet treats. With music ranging from country and rock to blues and jazz, you can build your day around your favorite sounds, or discover something new while wandering the festival grounds. Spend an afternoon tasting your way through the festival, then make plans to explore more of the coast. That’s where Flora-Bama comes in.

Keep the Live Music Going

If the festival gets you in the mood for live music, keep that momentum going at Flora-Bama. With live music 365 days a year across five stages, there’s always a reason to pull up a seat and stay for another song. Country, rock, beach music, and acoustic ballads are all part of the mix. Check the live music schedule to plan your visit around the sounds you love. Whether you’re ready to dance with friends or settle in and listen, make a little room in your festival weekend for a Flora-Bama music break.

Make Time for a Bushwacker by the Beach

Some vacation moments don’t need much planning: a cold drink, a water view, and good company will do just fine. Flora-Bama’s famous Bushwacker and beachfront bars make a natural stop during your Gulf Coast getaway. After exploring festival booths, come enjoy the view, catch up with friends, and let the afternoon turn into an evening of music.

Pull Up a Seat for Waterfront Dining

The seafood celebration can continue beyond the festival grounds. Across the street from the Lounge, Flora-Bama Yacht Club offers waterfront dining and seafood favorites, while Flora-Bama Ole River Grill pairs a deck overlooking the water with casual fare and TVs for catching the game. Make lunch part of your day’s adventure, or gather everyone for dinner before heading over to the Lounge. A festival outing, a waterfront meal, and live music make a pretty great vacation itinerary.

Experience a Gulf Coast Tradition

Located on the Alabama–Florida state line, Flora-Bama has been welcoming guests since 1964. For returning visitors, stopping by is part of coming back to the beach. For first-timers, it’s a chance to experience a place woven into the coast’s history. Come with your favorite people, find your favorite spot, and make a few memories of your own.

Take the Fun Out on the Water

Make your Shrimp Festival getaway even more memorable with an adventure at Flora-Bama Marina & Watersports. Rent a pontoon boat for a relaxing day exploring with family and friends, or pick up the pace with a jet ski rental. Both offer a fun way to spend part of your beach trip out on the water. Prefer to let someone else take the wheel? Book a captained boat cruise aboard the Coastal Cruiser and enjoy time with your crew while a licensed captain handles the ride. Or hop aboard Bama Breeze for a dolphin cruise and the chance to spot some of the coast’s favorite wildlife. Whether you’re looking for adventure or a leisurely cruise, add a little time on the water to your festival weekend, then head back for waterfront dining and live music at Flora-Bama!

See You During Shrimp Festival Weekend

This October, come hungry for the Gulf Shores Shrimp Festival—and leave a little time for Flora-Bama. Enjoy the food, browse the art, soak up the festival music, then head our way for waterfront dining, a Bushwacker, and another round of live entertainment.

Plan your visit at FloraBama.com. We’ll see you at the beach!
