When you’re spending the day on the Gulf Coast, good food and a waterfront view are hard to beat. At Ole River Grill, you can pull up, settle in on the open-air deck and dig into a menu packed with fresh seafood, Southern favorites, burgers, po-boys and plenty of shareable appetizers. Whether you’re coming off the boat, grabbing lunch with the family or looking for a laid-back dinner near Orange Beach and Perdido Key, here are a few Ole River Grill favorites worth putting on your radar.

Start With a Gulf Coast Favorite

Seafood is right at home on the Ole River Grill menu, and the appetizers are a great place to start.

For a true taste of the coast, try the Gulf Coast Crab Claws, available fried or sautéed in a house Creole cream sauce. Another local-inspired option is the Hickory Smoked Tuna Dip, made with brined Gulf tuna that’s slow smoked and served Alabama-style with saltine crackers.

Looking for something with a little sweet heat? The Key Lime Shrimp features lightly breaded American shrimp tossed in a sweet and spicy Blue Chair Bay Key Lime sauce.

And for the table that wants to try something a little different, the Boudin Egg Rolls bring together pork boudin and pepper jack cheese inside a crispy wrapper, served with spicy remoulade.

Oysters by the Water

It wouldn’t be a Gulf Coast meal without oysters.

Keep it classic with Raw Oysters, served cold on the half shell with all the fixings, or go for the Char-Grilled Oysters, topped with garlic butter and Parmesan and served with grilled bread.

Then there are the Oysters McClellan, a Flora-Bama original. These grilled Gulf oysters come topped with green onion, bacon and melted smoked Gouda for a rich, smoky spin on a coastal staple.

Ole River Grill also participates in oyster shell recycling efforts, helping return used shells to Alabama waters and support the local oyster habitat.

Shrimp, Grouper & Gulf Coast Classics

If seafood is the reason you came, you’ll have plenty of choices.

The Flora-Bama Shrimp Boil delivers a classic coastal combination of seasoned peel-and-eat American shrimp, potatoes, corn and sausage tossed in garlic butter. It’s the kind of meal that feels made for eating outside with a view of the water.

Another Southern favorite is Big Earl’s Shrimp & Grits, featuring lightly blackened American shrimp over stone-ground smoked Gouda grits and finished with Creole cream sauce.

Want to keep things simple? The Shrimp Basket and Grouper Basket offer seafood blackened, grilled or fried with classic sides. You can also choose the Combo Basket when deciding on just one sounds impossible.

Po-Boys, Tacos & Burgers

Seafood doesn’t stop with the baskets.

The Grouper Po Boy comes grilled, blackened or fried and dressed with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle, while the Fried Shrimp Po Boy piles fried American shrimp onto a handheld Gulf Coast classic.

For taco fans, there’s a choice between Blackened Grouper Tacos and Blackened Shrimp Tacos, both topped with shredded cabbage, cheese, pico de gallo and comeback sauce.

More in the mood for a burger? Ole River Grill has you covered there, too. Build your own Bama Burger with toppings ranging from bacon and grilled onions to jalapeños, mushrooms and blue cheese, or go all-in with the Triple Bacon Burger, featuring applewood bacon, cheddar, bacon and onion jam and bacon aioli.

Save Room for Something Sweet

A day on the Gulf deserves a proper finish.

Keep things coastal with a slice of Key Lime Pie topped with whipped cream, satisfy a serious chocolate craving with the Double Layer Chocolate Cake, or dig into the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake with raspberry puree, white chocolate and a dark chocolate crumb crust.

Come Hungry, Leave on Gulf Coast Time

Ole River Grill is all about enjoying the Gulf Coast without rushing it. Fresh seafood, hearty burgers, Southern flavors and a waterfront deck make it an easy stop whether you’re arriving by car or pulling up from the water. Bring the family, bring your friends and bring an appetite. From smoked tuna dip and Gulf oysters to shrimp and grits, grouper po-boys and Key Lime Pie, there’s plenty waiting for you at Ole River Grill.

Come grab a seat by the water and find your new Ole River Grill favorite.
